Located on a prominant junction at 1-25, Chang-Dong, Dobong-Gu district, north of the centre of Seoul. The robotics museum is part of the Chang-Dong and Sangye Urban regeneration & revitalization plan which aims to create a larger cultural hub served by the adjacent Chang-Dong Subway Station. Designed as a flagship for the urban regeneration project, the robot museum extends its outreach to the general public, creating a social & educational hub, revitalizing the local area & drawing visitors from further afield. The architecture of the museum reflects this "outreach" with its transparent ground floor public spaces, above which, sit the museum's exhibition & teaching facilities. The building is expressed in an uncompromisingly contemporary architectural style, reflecting the nature of the exhibits & activities within.
