Replacing an existing facility, located in the north of Da Nang City

in Hai Chau district, the new market occupies a landmark site on a prominent city crossroads.
Conceived as a sequence of naturally ventilated floor plates sheltered beneath a generous canopy, the main facade to the market is open, consisting of a vertical shade structure hung from the structural frame.
At ground level deep canopies provide shade to both the market within & the street side cafes.
The enclosed, air conditioned, elements addressing the crossroads are treated as cascading glass ribbons layered with traditional Vietnamese geometric screens captured within a sequence of sliding plates.
