Liam is a graduate of University of Dundee in Scotland. He originally practised in the United Kingdom with over 10 years of key professional experience there including time with the acclaimed Sir Basil Spence partnership. Relocating to Hong Kong in 1994, he joined James Gibson's design team at Denton Corker Marshall Hong Kong. During those formative years , Liam established himself as an indispensable member of the design studio and fast became a key team member responsible for the design development of many key projects for the practice.

In 2002, with the renaissance of the Hong Kong practice as DCMSTUDIOS, Liam was appointed as a director of the practice. Together with James, he leads the design development process in the studio. Liam's particular design methodology and impressive visualisation skills is uniquely consistent with the innovative studio objectives of DCMS to consistently attain the highest levels of excellence in architectural design.
